Free Press Release Sites You Can Submit To

Social Bookmarking Services

I love press releases.  With some of the higher quality releases (usually paid services) you can rank your release at the top of the search engines in a matter of hours.  Depending on the keywords used, I’ve seen them stay there for months and even years on the first page of the search results.  The problem for many, however, is the cost.

Good press release distribution is expensive.  If you want to use a press release marketing campaign, you are going to need a budget.  For many small business and website owners this is simply not possible.  The solution here is to use free press release distribution services.  These free press release sites may not have the top notch distribution that some of the paid options provide, but for those on a budget they are still effective.

The best way to use these free services is to try many of them, using different press releases, and guage which services are doing the best for you.  A simple way to do this is to search for an exact match of the title of your release in the search engines after a day or two.  If you can find your release somewhere in the first few pages of the search results, that free service should become a keeper.

Also, by having multiple sources for free distrubution you can rotate among the providers.  This will help improve your linking footprint, as these services all have slightly different distribution outlets.  If you use only one service, all of your releases are going to be distributed through the same channels.  Using a single service may be ok for some of the better paid options, but over time using only one distribution channel’s free press release service is going to diminish the results you see.

Press releases are a great way to get the word out about your business, site or service. In addition, they carry good weight with the search engines as they are viewed as an authority source may be viewed. If you are not incorporating press releases into your SEO campaign, now is a good time to start!
